After breakfast, head south to the Hobbiton Movie Set, a must-visit for any fan of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Wander through the enchanting village, visiting the iconic Hobbit holes, the Party Tree, and the Green Dragon Inn, where you can enjoy a complimentary drink. After your magical journey through Middle Earth, continue on to Rotorua, New Zealand’s geothermal hub. Arrive in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. Enjoy an evening at leisure, with an option to visit the local hot springs or explore the lakeside promenade.
Today, immerse yourself in the geothermal and cultural highlights of Rotorua. Begin with a visit to Te Puia, home to the famous Pohutu Geyser, which erupts daily, shooting boiling water up to 30 meters into the air. Walk through the bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and hot springs that define the landscape. You’ll also visit the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, where traditional Maori artisans demonstrate carving and weaving.
